Methodology & references

Closed-form relationships between weight-percent solids, slurry specific gravity, dilution ratio and volumetric fractions: SG_slurry = 100/(Cw/SG_s + (100 − Cw)/SG_w), with the inverse Cw = SG_s·(SG_slurry − 1)/(SG_slurry·(SG_s − 1))·100. From these the calculator derives solids per litre, volumetric fractions, slurry volume per tonne of solids and the dilution ratio.

No iteration and no empirical fitting: the formulas are algebraic identities valid across the full 0–100% solids range, with pure water and dry solids handled as analytical edge cases. This module underpins every other slurry calculation in MetPro.
